South African Bishops' Conference Launches New Website

(26 March 10-RV) The Office for Social Communications of the Southern African Catholic Bishops' Conference has launched a new website, www.churchontheball.com, ahead of the World Cup, which will be held later this year in South Africa.

One of the main purposes of the website is to provide soccer fans with Church information and links to local parishes and Catholic communities.

The Church in South Africa has also warned on several occasions that local criminal organizations and others abroad are sending thousands of prostitutes, including minors, to the World Cup.
