Bishop Emeritus of Belgaum Ignatius Lobo Dies
(February 17, 2010) Most Rev. Ignatius Lobo, Bishop Emeritus of Belgaum, India, passed away, at 6.45 a.m. Wednesday, 17 February, at Lourdes Hospital, Dharwad. Bishop Lobo was born in Siolim, Goa, on April 27, 1919, was ordained a priest on December 21, 1947. He was consecrated bishop 2nd June, 1968. He retired from the same diocese on December 1, 1994 at the age of 75.
