Church Buildings Attacked in Malaysia

(08 Jan 09 - RV) Four Malaysian churches were attacked with firebombs on Friday, causing extensive damage to one, as Muslims pledged to prevent Christians from using the word «Allah.»

Many Malay Muslims are protesting a recent High Court decision to overturn a ban on Catholics using «Allah» as a translation for God in the Malay-language edition of the main Catholic newspaper, the Herald.
