Quake Leaves Over 1,000 Homeless in Solomon Islands
(05 Jan 10 - RV) Landslides and a tsunami unleashed by an earthquake yesterday destroyed
some 200 houses on one Solomon island, leaving about one-third of the population homeless.
No injuries were reported, but more than 1,000 people have been affected and are being
helped by aid agencies. Communications Manager for the Asia Pacific region at the
International Federation of the Red Cross, Jason Smith told us more about their relief
operation.
