British Man to be Executed in China

(28 Dec 09 - RV) A British man is scheduled to be executed in China on charges of drug smuggling. Akmal Shaikh, a 53-year-old father of three, was visited by his family Monday, who also made a last-minute plea to Chinese authorities for mercy.
The case is being highlighted by Reprieve, a British anti-death penalty organisation. Representative Stacey Walker says Akmal Shaikh is not mentally competent, and should not be executed. RealAudioMP3
