Archbishop Pedro López Quintana appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Canada

(December 12, 2009) Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal Archbishop Pedro López Quintana, has been appointed as Apostolic Nuncio to Canada. The Vatican announced the Pope’s appointment on Thursday. Archbishop Quintana takes over from Archbishop Luigi Ventura who in September this year was transferred as Apostolic Nuncio to France. Archbishop Quintana represented the Holy See in India and Nepal for over nine years. The 56-year old archbishop was born in Barbastro, Spain, ordained priest in 1980, and appointed Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal on Feb. 8, 2003.
