Pope Tells Students of Africa "God Walks with You!"
(10 Oct 09 - RV) "Meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary, we once again scrutinize
the true face of God, who in Jesus Christ reveals his presence in the lives of all
people."
Meeting
students of the Roman Universities in the Paul VI Hall, to pray the rosary for the
Synod of Bishops for Africa, Benedict XVI embraced the students linked via satellite
from Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, Madagascar, South Africa, Nigeria , the Democratic Republic
of Congo, Mozambique and Burkina Faso. A chorus of faith sung across latitudes and
longitudes, for peace, justice and reconciliation in Africa.
"The God
of Jesus Christ walks with man - said the Pope - and thanks to him a civilization
of love is possible".
From this a call to “be promoters of intellectual
charity in the Church and society, to meet the great challenges of contemporary history."
"Be sincere and enthusiastic seekers of truth in the Universities - concluded
the pope - Building academic communities of high intellectual standards, where it
is possible to exercise and enjoy a rationality that is open and ample, that opens
the path to an encounter with God."
