Fear Remains in Orissa

(19 Sept 09 - RV) A delegation from the world council of churches representing Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia will meet in India to discuss ecumenical relations and the safety of Christians. Last year violent out breaks against Christians left thousands homeless and many killed and injured. Speaking just ahead of the visit the Archbishop of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, Raphael Cheenath says not enough is being done to safeguard Orissa’s Christian population. He also says that while there is now relative calm, fear remains.
