(08 Sept 09 - RV) Turning the brain drain into a brain gain for Africa – that is
the goal the bishops of West Africa set themselves in their recent Plenary Assembly.
Shocked
by the deaths of so many of their young people who hazard dangerous Mediterranean
crossings in their attempts to reach Europe, and the emergence of xenophobia in some
European nations towards Africans, the bishops have come up with a strategy to encourage
their youth to stay at home.
