Japanese Population Numbers Expected to Continue to Decline


(02 Sep 09 - RV) With a birth rate hovering around 1.3 and more than a quarter of its population expected to be 65 or older by 2015, the new government in Japan is facing a crisis of a rapidly aging and shrinking population, which it hopes to combat by providing cash incentives to encourage larger families.
