(13 Aug 09 - RV)The Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences is holding its plenary
meeting this week in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
The Federation
is a voluntary association of episcopal conferences in South, Southeast, East and
Central Asia, established with the approval of the Holy See. Its purpose is to promote
and defend the greater good for the people of asia and foster the faith within the
church.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Living Eucharist in Asia.”
Archbishop
of Adelaide Philip Wilson is at the event, and spoke to us about the relationship
Australia has with its Asian population.
