Aid for Food and Medicines, Not for Birth Control, Needed in Latin America

(21 Jun 09 - RV) Peru's Episcopal Commission on the Family has formally written to Canada's Catholic bishops conference requesting that Canadian Caritas organisation Development and Peace stop funding pro-abortion groups in Peru.


Alejandro Bermudes, director of ACIprensa and Catholic News Agency says that the wider issue of how foreign NGO’s spend foreign funds across Latin America must be addressed, particularly after US President Barack Obama overturned the Mexico City Policy that stopped all aid to pro abortion groups.
