(06 June 09 - RV) A suicide bomber killed three Afghan civilians, including a woman
and a child, and wounded 11 others in the southern border town of Spin Boldak today.
Violence
has swelled in Afghanistan despite the fact that the number of foreign troops has
increased to almost 80,000 this year.
Since U.S.-led and Afghan forces toppled
the Taliban's Islamist government in late 2001, the country has been working towards
strengthening its democracy and improving human rights.
