Obama Marks D-Day Anniversary at Celebrations in France

(06 June 09 - RV) US President Barack Obama joined leaders of France and Britain today in Normandy as they paid tribute to the soldiers who died on the beaches there during the D-Day invasion of World War II.

Thousands of veterans and active servicemen and women are also on hand to celebrate the 65^th anniversary of the June 6^th, 1944 invasion, pivotal to the allied victory against the Nazis.
