Obama Marks D-Day Anniversary at Celebrations in France
(06 June 09 - RV) US President Barack Obama joined leaders of France and Britain today
in Normandy as they paid tribute to the soldiers who died on the beaches there during
the D-Day invasion of World War II.
Thousands of veterans and active servicemen
and women are also on hand to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the June
6th, 1944 invasion, pivotal to the allied victory against the Nazis.
