South Africa Counts The Votes

(23 Apr 09 - RV) South Africa’s ruling African National Congress party has taken an early lead in vote counting following Wednesday’s general elections.

This election was the first in which the ANC faced a viable challenge, which came from the breakaway Congress of the People, or COPE.
