anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin’s Origin of Species is underway
this week at Rome’s Pontifical Gregorian University.
Under the sponsorship
of the Pontifical Council for Culture and in partnership with the University of Notre
Dame in South Bend, Indiana, scientists, philosophers and theologians from all around
the world are gathered to discuss the facts and theories of biological evolution.
One
of Friday morning’s speakers, Prof. David Depew of the University of Iowa, told us
one of the major themes that attracted him to the conference is the search for a way
of thinking that respects the method and progress of scientific inquiry and the reality
