Pope Says Digital Technology Can Foster Dialogue
(23 January 09-RV) Pope Benedict’s message for the 43rd World Day for Communications was launched at a press conference here at the Vatican today. It’s theme this year is, New Technologies, New Relationships. Promoting a Culture of Respect, Dialogue and Friendship. In the message the Holy Father underlined the great potential electronic technology has of opening up the world, to dialogue and open communication. He also urged producers of new media to ensure that the content respected human dignity. Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Monsignor Paul Tighe says, the message this year is addressed to the digital generation who generate media content.
