Prime Minister Stephen Harper called the elections with the hopes of making gains,
which might give him an elusive majority in the parliament. A poll yesterday showed
Harper's Conservatives maintained a comfortable lead over the second-place Liberals,
but lacked sufficient support to give him a parliamentary majority. We spoke to
