(11 Aug 08 - RV) Power-sharing talks between Zimbabwe's governing Zanu-PF party and
opposition officials resumed today in the capital, Harare. President Robert Mugabe
said some 14 hours of talks had ended inconclusively in the early hours, but that
he was "confident" a deal could be reached. Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai
declined to comment. We spoke with Dennis Benton of the Zimbabwe Vigil in London,
who told us it is highly unlikely the talks will result in a power-sharing deal.
