Zimbabwe Rivals Resume Talks

(05 Aug 08 - RV) Power-sharing talks resumed yesterday between Zimbabwe’s rival political parties at an undisclosed location in South Africa’s capital.


The talks which began July 24 had broken off after only five days over President Robert Mugabe's insistence that he lead any new government.


The press officer for the Zimbabwe Vigil in London, Dennis Benton, says it remains unlikely that Mugabe will give up his aim of clinging onto power.
