Mugabe and Tsvangirai Sign Deal on Power-Sharing Talks
(21 July 08 - RV) Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan
Tsvangirai have signed an agreement on power-sharing talks to bring an end to the
country's political crisis. Mugabe and Tsvangirai signed the deal in Harare that will
set out conditions for talks on forming a unity government. The signing was witnessed
by South African President and mediator Thabo Mbeki. Mbeki has been negotiating with
the two sides since July 10 and has said the talks would produce some form of coalition.
