(13 June 08 - RV) The Vatican’s Council for the Laity today officially handed
over the definitive Statutes of the Neocatechumenal Way to founder Kiko Arguello. The
Statutes approved by Pope Benedict XVI are the result of 5 years of debate and reflection
involving 5 Vatican dicasteries and members of the Charism. Giuseppe Gennarini
is an itinerant catechesist with the Way in the United States. He says that the
statues are important in underlining that the charism is an instrument of the church
and not separate to it.
