(09 Jun 08 - RV) Spanish truck drivers began an indefinite strike over rocketing
fuel prices today, smashing the windscreens of vehicles that crossed picket lines.
They
were joined by truck drivers in neighbouring Portugal who also went on strike.
There
were also protests across the border in France over the impact of the surge in oil
prices to record highs of over 1 hundred and 39 dollars a barrel.
We spoke
with Oil Markets expert Dr Valerie Marcel, who told us more about the factors behind
the current price surge.
