South Africa Grapples with Victims Displaced by Violence
(28 May 08-RV) The South African government has announced it will set up seven refugee
camps to deal with the estimated 80,000 displaced people fleeing anti-immigrant violence
in the country. Meanwhile, nearly 2,000 migrants have been put in a camp set up
by the Capetown government. We spoke to Gunther Simmermacher, who is the editor
of the Capetown based Catholic newspaper, The Southern Cross. He says there is concern
about the way the migrants are being treated...
