Making Sure Aid Reaches Survivors in Myanmar


(24 May 08 - RV) UN Secretary General Ban ki Moon will return tomorrow to Myanmar, to lead an international donors' meeting in cyclone-hit nation.

Three weeks after the disaster, the Junta’s top general Than Shwe made what appeared to be a concession in telling the visiting United Nations chief that all foreign aid workers would be allowed in.

World Food Program’s Spokesman for Asia, Paul Risley,  said the UN Secretary General’s presence in the country will open doors to getting aid in to the delta region….
