(12 May 08 -RV) A U S military plane, packed with 28,000 pounds of supplies arrived
in Myanmar today to deliver its first shipment of aid to the cyclone-stricken nation.
The official death toll from the May 3 Cyclone Nargis stands at nearly 28
and a half thousand, but that figure could rise significantly.
Meanwhile, the
U.N. has urged the reclusive nation to open its doors to foreign experts who can help
up to 2 million cyclone victims facing disease and starvation.
