(26 Apr 08 - RV) The Holy Father has nominated Archbishop Asvaldo Padilla Apostolic
Nunzio in Mongolia. The Vatican diplomat had formally been the Apostolic Nunzio in
Korea.
Pope Benedict has also nominated advisors to the Commission for Religious
Relations with Judaism which is part of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian
Unity.
They new members include Archbishop Kevin John Patrick McDonald, of
Southwark (Great Britain); Bishop William Francis Murphy, of Rockville in the (United
States of America); and Franciscan Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Custodian of
the Holy Land, Jerusalem.
Also Today Pope Benedict sent a letter to Cardinal
Andre Vingt Trois, Archbishop of Paris to mark the 100th anniversary of
the ‘Frat’ student pilgrimage to the national shrine of Lourdes.
In his letter
the Holy father encourages young people to "welcome the Word of God adding that for
each young pilgrim the Lord has something special to say". "Do not fear it", urges
the Pope, "listen to it."
