Heavy Fighting Kills Dozens in Sri Lanka

(23 Apr 08 - RV) Clashes in the northern Jaffna peninsula of Sri Lanka today has killed 52 Tamil Tigers and 38soldiers. The fighting in the country has intensified since the government pulled out of a formal ceasefire deal in January. Earlier this month the Sacred Heart Church in the town of Madu was destroyed in the fighting. The Tamil Tigers have since occupied the building.
