(05 April 08 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI was presented yesterday with one of the limited
editions of the St. John's Bible, the first known handwritten Bible commissioned by
a Benedictine monastery since the invention of the printing press over 500 years ago.
The «Wisdom Books,» a limited edition reproduction of one of the Old Testament volumes
measuring more than half a meter tall and nearly one meter wide when open _ was presented
to the pope in a private audience, as part of a 7 million dollar gift package given
annually by the US based “Papal Foundation”. Charles Collins reports…
