(28 Mar 08 - RV) Mudslides in the Philippines are becoming increasingly common in
areas where intensive logging has taken place and trees no longer provide protection
from flooding. Many villages are currently facing pending disasters, however most
of them can still be prevented. The charity, World Vision, is working with local
communities to come up with disaster preparedness plans, particularly in areas where
mountains are most likely to give way. Spokesperson Minnie Portales told us more
