(28 Feb 08 - RV) Kenya's rival politicians reached an agreement today to form a coalition
government after weeks of bitter negotiations on how to end the country's deadly postelection
crisis.
President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga held four
hours of discussions with former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and the leader of
the African Union, Jakaya Kikwete.
Annan emerged to say a deal on the formation
of a coalition government had been reached, but would now be discussed with the political
