UNICEF Makes Emergency Appeal for Somalia's Children

(18 Feb 08-RV) Malnutrition in Somalia is above the emergency threshold and increasing. Cereal production in the country has turned out to be much lower than originally forecast, and the United Nations Children's Fund agency is urgently seeking nearly $6 million to treat children at risk. UNICEF Communications Officer Misbah Sheikh told us more about their emergency appeal.
