Pope Benedict Bids Farewell to U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See

(10 Jan 08 - RV) Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday met with the United States Ambassador to the Holy See, Francis Rooney, who is leaving his ambassadorial post. Ambassador Rooney has served as Ambassador from the United States since October 13, 2005. He is the 7^th ambassador from the US since diplomatic relations were established in 1984.
