Pope Appoints New Archbishop to Moscow's Mother of God

(21 Sep 07 - RV ) Pope Benedict today appointed Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz metropolitan archbishop of Minsk-Mohilev in Belorussia, transferring him from the “Mother of God” archdiocese in Moscow, Russia.

At the same time the Pope nominated Don Paolo Pezzi, of the Missionaries of St. Charles Borromeo archbishop of “Mother of God” in Moscow.

Up until now don Pezzi had been Rector of the Major Seminary "Mary Queen of Apostles" in St. Petersburg, Russia.
