(10 Aug 07 - RV) Kenya's Parliament has passed a media bill enabling the government
to force journalists to disclose their sources. The government says the bill aims
to regulate the media, but critics say the bill is a return to the days when journalists
were routinely harassed and sometimes tortured. The Managing Group Editor of the
Kenyan newspaper The Standard is Chaacha Mwita. He says the media bill will
prevent journalists from reporting freely.
