(19 September 2006 - RV) Nepal's government and communist rebels are set to restart
stalled peace talks in the coming week in efforts to end a decade-long insurgency
in the Himalayan nation. The proposed talks would tackle a number of key issues including
the disposition of the rebels' large weapons cache. A ceasefire delcared in April
aimed at permanently ending the 10 year insurgency in the country. We spoke to Caritas
Nepal Director, Father Varky Perakat. He said there was a willingness on both sides
to reach agreement.
