18 September 06 -RV) The first ever Plenary Session of the U.N. General Assembly on
Migration issues began last week at the United Nations in New York. The session is
focusing on ways to maximise the benefits and minimize the difficulties of migration.
Millions of people cross national borders every year and a significant percentage
of them do not follow all the regulations of the country they are entering. Charles
Collins spoke to Nicholas Demarzio, the Bishop of Brooklyn, who led the Holy See's
delegation at the U.N. General Assembly.
