(14 Sept 06 - RV) A three-day international conference on stem cells research began
in Rome today. The congress, entitled "Stem Cells: What Future for Therapy?", has
been organised by the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations (FIAMC)
and the Pontifical Academy for Life. The congress offers a forum for evaluating the
present status of therapeutical applications of stem cells in the different clinical
fields. It will also look at the history and future direction of research. President
