In India Jesuit Priest receives national-level Best Teacher Award
(07 Sep. 2006) : Fr Pius Fernandes, a Jesuit priest serving as principal of De Nobili
School at Dhanbad in the eastern-Indian state of Jharkhand, has bagged the national-level
Best Teacher award. Fr. Pius has been chosen for the national-level best teacher award
for his committed and selfless service in imparting education. The award was presented
at a glittering ceremony at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday 5th
September. Fr Pius was also the principal of the prestigious Loyola School situated
at Jamshedpur in Bihar for 12 long years. He did his early education at St Mary's
School in Kundapur and completed his further education from St Aloysius College at
Mangalore.
