In India an exhibition of paintings on Jesus by a Hindu artiste held In Mangalore


(April 20, 2006) : A 39 year-old Hindu artiste, Mr. Ganesh Shenoy from Mangalore in Southern Indian state of Karnataka, has drawn over 50 paintings on the life of Jesus Christ. The paintings were exhibited at Milagres Parish hall in Mangalore from April 12 to 16th. Speaking on his motivation for choosing the subject for his paintings, Mr. Shenoy said that he is a Theosophist and respects all religions and wants to bring the religions closer to each other by giving them an opportunity to learn about other religions. The artiste has used the technique of surrealism and impressionism for his paintings. Both his parents are renowned artistes. The exhibition was jointly organised by Mangalore based Sandesha Foundation and the Milagres Church. On this occasion Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore said, “…may this exhibition lead us closer to Him who came to preach the message of peace, love and harmony.”
