Cause for Beatification of John Paul II opens in Rome

(28 June 2005 - RV) This evening sees the official beginning of the cause for the beatification of John Paul II.
In the Basilica of Saint John in Lateran in Rome, members of the tribunal which will assess the life, virtues and saintly reputation of pope Karol Wojtyla will be sworn in.
