During his homily for the opening Mass of the conclave which elected him, Pope Benedict
warned against moral relatavism: The idea that there no absolute truth. He said
that we live in a world where “one’s own ego, or one’s own pleasure has become the
ultimate good.” Samuel Gregg is a moral philosopher, who works with the acton institute
for the study of religion and liberty, he says that the holy father’s desire to underpin
absolute truths will be something he’ll bring to his pontificate.
