Mexico federal police accused of executions

(Vatican Radio) Mexico`s National Human Rights Commission says Federal Police Summarily executed 22 men on a ranch in a operation in which 42 died.

Listen to James Blears report:

Mexican Authorites insisted it was a fierce gun battle between Federal Police and suspected members of the Jalisco New Generation drug cartel on an isolated ranch in the Western State of Michocan.  But...after a detailed and exhaustive investigation, Mexico`s National Human Rights Commission, concludes that Federal Police  arbitrarily executed 22 men,  four more died from excessive force, one died in a fire.  While it wasn`t possible to determine exactly how 15 others died.  One Police Officer was killed.

Furthermore, the investigation found that two people arrested were tortured.  It also states that seven bodies were moved and guns placed in their lifeless hands to fake the appearance of a firefight.  The blame is firmly placed at the door of Federal Police.  The Nation is now waiting for President Enrique Pena Nieto to take action, so Justice can be served.
