Indian Jesuits to start second XIM campus in Rourkela

Indian Jesuits are planning to start a second campus of their prestigious Xavier Institute of Management (XIM) of Bhubaneswar in Rourkela in the same state of Odisha.  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved the proposal last month. The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and the Odisha state government will provide all needed help in setting up of the institute, UCANews reported.   SAIL would provide 30 acres of land from land allotted to it by the state government to set up the institute and also provide assistance for development of infrastructure for the institute.   The XIM-Rourkela will have a capacity to admit 250-300 students and half of the seats are reserved for candidates of the students from the state.

The Xavier Institute of Management in Bhubaneswar, established 28 years ago, is run by the Jesuits in collaboration with government of Odisha.  Jesuit Fr. Paul Fernandes, director of XIM, welcomed the approval of XIM Rourkela.  Bishop Kishor Kumar Kujur, Bishop of Rourkela hoped that XIM Rourkela would help educate the local youth in management.  (Source: UCAN)
