Fr. Okello coordinates Papal visit to Kenya once again

A Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) Philosophy lecturer is spearheading the coordination of Pope Francis’ visit to Kenya. Dr. Fr. Stephen Okello is in-charge of the secretariat. This is the second papal visit he is coordinating.

Twenty years ago, Fr. Okello played a leading role in Pope St. John Paul II visit to Kenya in 1995. Exactly 20 years later, the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) has given him another chance to coordinate Pope Francis’ visit to Kenya.

He acknowledges that a lot has changed in a span of twenty years making the coordination of papal visits more complicated.

Pope Francis will make an Apostolic visit to Kenya from 25 to 27 November 2015, Uganda from 27 to 29 November and the Central African Republic from 29 to 30 November.
