'Nostra Aetate': stepping back in time


(Vatican Radio) Wednesday 28th of October marks half a century since the ‘Declaration on the Church’s Relations to Non-Christian Religions’, known as ‘Nostra Aetate’, was promulgated by Blessed Paul VI on that very same date at the time of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council.

Among those to witness this ground-breaking event was Nigerian Cardinal Francis Arinze who was to serve as President of the 'Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue' from 1984 - 2002.
