When our 'Latin Lover' acted as guide to St Peter's Square


(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis appears ever Wednesday in Saint Peter's Square for his weekly general audience with pilgrims gathered there. Pilgrims who arrive there before he does  have plenty of time to look around at this complex architectural feat.

Among whom many who may wonder how the architecture of the square was defined. Well as it turns out it's a complex set up signed at different times by a number of masterful architects.

Our popular 'Latin Lover' once took Veronica Scarisbrick on a guided tour there explaining some of the papal patronage that went on over the centuries which resulted in the set up of the square today. And indeed she gives away a little secret relatining to the engraved signature of Paul V, the  Borghese pope, across the Basilica's facade.
