Pope Francis receives the Prime Minister of Slovenia


(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis on Friday encouraged the Prime Minister of Slovenia to continue to build on constructive dialogue within the process of national reconciliation.

His words of support came during a private audience in the Vatican during which the Holy Father received Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.

A communiqué released by the Vatican Press Office said that during the cordial discussions the good relations between the Holy See and the Republic of Slovenia were highlighted.

It said that the Parties confirmed their common will to continue constructive dialogue on bilateral themes regarding the relations between Church and State, with particular reference to the process of national reconciliation, human and religious values, and joint collaboration to promote the common good of society and of the poorest.

After his meeting with Pope Francis, Cerar held talks with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.
