Tombura-Yambio Radio: Be informed, be strengthened and be a transformed society


South Sudan’s Tombura-Yambio Catholic Bishop, Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala on Wednesday met Catholic Diocesan Radio Anisa staff and the administrative team. The meeting was meant to strengthen the relationship between the Bishop and the radio with the view to improve on the quality of radio programmes.

Bishop Kussala advises the journalists to be creative in their work, passionate and work as team for successful out comes.

He further urged the reporters to be organised and to love their profession, challenging presenters to be strong communicators who meet audience demands.The Bishop encouraged the administrative team and the various journalists to consistently focus on educative, relevant and spiritual programmes according to the motto of the Radio: “Be informed, be strengthened and be a transformed society.”

Anisa is the local Nzande word for, “We are one.” The radio is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio in South Sudan’s western Equatorial State. Its coverage reaches Ezo town at 160Km as well asbTombura which is 185Km away.

Radio Anisa claims a potential audience of 600,000 listeners and broadcasts in the Zande, English, local Arabic and Balanda languages. It is part of the South Sudan Catholic Radio network which links all Catholic radio stations.
