Irish monks “On the Pathways of the World”

(Vatican Radio)  In his recent book, "On the Pathways of the World", Enzo Farinella explores the contribution of Irish monks to medieval and modern Italy.

Listen to Laura Ieraci’s interview with Enzo Farinella:

Irish monks spread throughout Europe by going wherever they felt that God was calling them, founding along the way schools, parishes, monasteries, and universities.

Their fundamental drive was to build a new world based on the values of freedom, solidarity, peace, and justice.

Thousands of monks came to Italy over the course of several centuries and left a legacy of hope and learning which revitalized their world.
